Call for BCCA Physiologist Council representative
Job Description
The Cardiac Physiologist representative role includes:
- Representing Cardiac Physiologists on the BCCA Council regarding professional matters including General and Specialist Training, MSc qualification etc
- Attendance at 3-4 committee meetings a year, usually held in London with one meeting held on the eve of the BCCA Annual Meeting
- Provide feedback from BCCA Council to Physiologists within the UK
- Contribute to the work of Council on Education.
It is a particularly important time to have strong representation on BCCA Council and expressions of interest in the role are welcomed

A-Z of Sudden Cardiac Death in the Young, 6 December 2018, Hallam Conference Centre, London
The day-long event (approved for 6 CPD points) aims to bring together international and UK experts in sudden death to speak upon all aspects of prevention with a focus on sudden death in the young. This will address epidemiology and pathology followed by screening strategies and therapeutics with a final section on latest developments. A poster competition is being held and those wishing to submit an abstract for this meeting should contact the secretariat on

Fetal Cardiology Course - hosted by Birmingham Women's Hospital, 31 January - 1 February 2019
The Fetal Cardiology Course offers comprehensive lectures, video display and hands on experience to give delegates added confidence in recognising normal cardiac anatomy and in identifying and managing cardiac anomalies. The course is aimed at fetal medicine consultants and trainees, screening sonographers and trainees in fetal medicine and paediatric cardiology. The 2 day course includes a hands-on practical session limited to 15 delegates.
