BCCA Statement on Paediatrics and ACHD Cardiac Service in Ukraine
Update on Ukrainian Congenital Cardiac Services. The terrible situation in Ukraine and the plight of all Ukrainians is very much in all our thoughts. Several BCCA members have asked about the current situation for paediatric cardiac and ACHD services in Ukraine and several units have offered help and support, including receiving patients if needed. The BCCA president, Professor Piers Daubeney, is in regular contact with his counterpart Dr Andriy Maksymenko at the Ukraine Children's Cardiac Centre (UCCC). At present surgical and interventional services are continuing in Kviv with some services relocated to Lviv. The UCCC thanks the BCCA for its ongoing support and concern and will let us know if clinical support including taking patients is required. We will contact members and units should a request be received. If refugees with known cardiac disease from Ukraine arrive in the UK and present to our cardiac centres then Dr Maksymenko can supply details of their recent correspondence and medical history. BCCA
