You may have already received notification about this via other channels such as your local Trust, Royal Colleges or the British Cardiovascular Society. Unfortunately, colleagues in Scotland and Northern Ireland are still not eligible to apply having been disadvantaged in recent years. [Please ignore this communication if this applies to you]
If you would like to have the support of BCCA, please submit your applications to Azeem Ahmad, Affiliates Coordinator (Email: firstname.lastname@example.org, Tel: +44 (0) 20 7380 1918) by 23.59hrs on Monday 11th March 2019 using the below forms:
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered for BCCA support. Apologies for the tight administrative timescale, but we will need to rank the applications well ahead of the ACCEA’s final submission deadline of 17.00hrs on 4 April 2019. Other deadlines for support I am aware of: BCS deadline is 23.59hrs on Monday 11th March 2019. Your own Trust deadline may differ.
Emphasis on any contribution nationally and to BCCA will be important. It is a very competitive process and the more support you have the better. College support is probably more important than that of the specialist societies but in the end it comes down to the regional scoring committees so concentrate on the quality of the overall application and try to strictly follow the guidance in the large document enclosed. I would suggest for each supporting body that you emphasise the relevant portions of your application relevant to that body – so for instance if you have done a lot of College work – emphasise that in the college application and for the specialist societies emphasise the contribution to them but even if you have not been involved with national activities through these bodies then if your local contribution has had national importance then this should be recognised as well.
BCCA will review the applications for support and score and rank them using an independent panel of BCCA members. As per previous years we are allowed to support up to 4 applications at bronze level, two at silver and 1 at gold level.
Good luck with your applications this year.
